Unqualified audit report for KZN Education
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
KZN Education has obtained yet another unqualified audit report for the 2017/2018 financial year.
The Auditor General's met with MEC Mthandeni Dlungwana and the HOD Enock Nzama to present the department’s audit outcome.
The department says it has been working hard to eradicate fraud and corruption as well as wasteful expenditure.
While the MEC says there is still work to be done, he says he's proud of what's been achieved.
"This year, we have now improved because we are quite close to receiving a clean audit - there are just a few issues that we have to deal with. We are very happy with what we have received.
"It shows that we have been saying to our team that they should fight with any kind of corruption, and unauthorised expenditure - yielding good results," Dlungwana said.
