Unplaced pupils must approach education department
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) in KZN has appealed to parents and guardians who haven't managed to enrol their children in schools to approach institutions or the education department immediately.

The 2024 academic year kicked off across South Africa on Wednesday, with scores of pupils yet to be placed in schools.
SADTU's Nomarashiya Caluza says registering your child will ensure they do not fall behind with this year's curriculum.

"I'm also calling for everyone, just to get ready, and the parents, of course, to ensure that those who did not register last year, they must at least come so that all learners are seated behind their desk and being taught by their teacher."
