Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
The search for missing University of Zululand student, Mbali Gumede continues despite reports she's been traced to a hospital in Nigeria.
Gumede's sister, Tobo Mthembu says she received a message on Facebook saying her 23-year-old sister has been found.
But Mthembu says the family has not received any official confirmation.

She says they have forwarded the message to police.
"When I received the messages, I sent them to the police and they are still working on the case. We have also seen the news that Mbali has been found but as a family, we are still saying those are just rumours. We haven't found Mbali yet. Somebody inboxed me and anyone can use an account to send inboxes," she said.
The police's Thembeka Mbhele says they have roped in International Relations to verify the information.
"No one has communicated with us from that side. We have written a letter to International Relations in Pretoria, they will then talk to the Embassy in Nigeria to go to the hospital and check. We cannot confirm this happened not unless we have confirmation from a person who went there," she said.
Mbali went missing in June this year after leaving home for university.
