Unisa extends registration due to ongoing staff strike
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Student registrations at the University of South Africa have been extended by a week.
The university says this is due to ongoing and illegal strike action by staff members over pay.
Management says it obtained a court interdict in the wake of intimidation and damage to property.

Registrations will continue until Friday, now.
Unions representing staff have rejected UNISA's offer of a 6.3% salary increase. They say they want 9%.
The varsity's Lusani Netshi-Tomboni says a facilitator's been appointed to try to end the wage deadlock.
"The university has appointed a facilitator to try to get this deadlock resolved, but it has been settled as we hoped. So that is where we are at this stage. But the university is open to negotiate and to make sure that we resolve the deadlock."
