Union wants full probe into worker's death at Richards Bay plant
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Chemical manufacturer, Foskor says it's providing assistance to the family of a staff member, who died at the company in Richards Bay last week.

While investigations are underway into what caused Mduduzi Mthembu's death, Metalworkers union NUMSA claims management failed to adequately respond when acidity levels inside the plant began to rise.
It wants the Labour Department to look into whether an emergency evacuation had been carried out properly. Foskor's Abram Ledwaba says they have been speaking to Mthembu's family.
"We have an employee assistant programme that we are running. We have already sent a team to the family to give them the necessary support. As a company, we will do our best.

Ledwaba says they have employee insurance that will cover funeral arrangements.
