CWU's KZN officer, Thami Mzileni says they are not surprised.

"Telkom is supposed to be leading as we are in the fourth industrial revolution in the ICT sector. In terms of the research that has been done, the ICT sector is supposed to be creating jobs not losing jobs."

"That is why we are saying we are not surprised about Telkom retrenching these workers and we are going to fight to the last bone that we have to ensure that we descend our members," he says.
