Union calls for intervention after uMhlathuze bodyguards shot dead

uMhlathuze's offering its employees counselling after two bodyguards assigned to Richards Bay officials were killed.
Ntokozo Mthembu and Simo Zulu were shot inside the municipal office building on Thursday.
It's alleged that Mthembu opened fire on Zulu.
Another security guard who witnessed the incident, is said to have then shot Mthembu. Municipal workers union SAMWU wants the Department of Cooperative Governance and local government association SALGA to intervene to quell rising tensions.

Meanwhile uMhlathuze's Bongani Gina says they've been discussing funeral arrangements with the men's families.
"We are still waiting for both families to confirm to us but I'm aware that one is expected to be buried on Saturday, the other we are still waiting for the family to confirm.
Pathologists were also working; postmortem still needs to be done and such processes especially if the person passed away in the nature that the two have passed away in."
