Unemployed doctors vow to continue protest at KZN Health offices
Unemployed doctors who are staging a sit-in at the KwaZulu-Natal Health offices in Pietermaritzburg are preparing to spend the weekend there.
They say they will not move until they have appointment letters.
Speaking on behalf of the doctors, Dr Thanduxolo Cele says about 60 of his colleagues are camping outside the office.
"We have been subjected to all kinds of weather. On the first day, it was raining at night. Yesterday (Thursday), there was penetrating sunlight, and today, it is windy and cold, but we are resisting, and we are determined to see what we are hoping to materialise."

It's day four of their protest outside the Natalia Building on Langalibalele Street.
The medical professionals say promises that they would have been employed at public hospitals by the first of this month have not materialised.
They continue to picket, even after KZN Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane assured doctors that their plight is being addressed.

"It was disappointing for her to release such a misleading statement when she has not made the effort to meet with us. If we were to be flagged on the march we had - they said there is going to be employment of all doctors on 1 April," said Cele.
"It does not make sense that posts are going to be released. They should have been released a long time ago. We should have had short-listings and interviews. People should have been appointed and should have been working by 1 April. I'm not sure how do we trust the process now."
