Undertakers vow to continue disruptions at Home Affairs
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
Operations at some Home Affairs branches, including in KwaZulu-Natal, have been disrupted as a protest by some funeral practitioners continues.
Undertakers, under the banner of the Unification Task Team, want the department to amend regulations to allow them to register deaths on behalf of families.
They delivered a list of demands to the department's head office in Pretoria on Tuesday.

UTT spokesperson Muzi Hlengwa says they want permanent permits that will allow them to remove the bodies from hospitals and mortuaries.
"Until they grant us that permanent one, until they issue a correct circular that they are supposed to be issuing, we will shut them down.
"Some of the Home Affairs are closed already and some are in the process of being closed. We appeal to employees to just close because we don't wanna pick up any fights with anyone."
