Umzinto security guard and civilian shot in attempted CIT robbery

A security guard and a civilian have been shot and injured in an attempted cash-in-transit robbery in Umzinto on the south coast.
Details are sketchy, but police say robbers opened fire at a supermarket this morning as guards were moving money.
One of the guards and a member of the public were hit.

The gunmen fled the scene without taking any money.
Police are investigating attempted murder and attempted business robbery.
