Police rearrest another prison escapee, 14 still at large

Do the right thing and hand yourself over. That's the advice from KZN authorities who have confirmed yet another prisoner who escaped during an ambush en route to the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court has been re-arrested.

45 prisoners were being transported from the city's New Prison to the court when five heavily armed men blocked the road last week Wednesday.
31 awaiting trial prisoners got out.
Police spokesperson, Jay Naicker has confirmed that 19-year-old Talent Mncube who was previously arrested for murder, attempted murder and assault was arrested in the area today.

Naicker says the investigation is ongoing and attempts to trace the remaining 14 awaiting trial prisoners are still continuing.

"Tracking teams are still continuing, we know these prisoners will always be on the move so it will be a challenge for our tracking teams because when they get to a location they will find they have moved."
"We are still urging them to do the right thing and hand themselves over."
