uMsunduzi Mayor Mzimkhulu Thebolla says he's pleased with the sentence
handed down to a July unrest instigator, adding it will send a
strong message other would-be criminals.
Mdumiseni Zuma was on Tuesday handed a 12-year jail term for his role in the burning of Maritzburg's Brookside Mall in 2021.
He made a video in which he incited people to commit acts of public violence.
The damage caused by looters at a mall ran into hundreds of millions of rands.

Thebolla says justice has been served.
"We are happy that finally justice has been served because this will build the confidence for law enforcement and the justice system and our country."
