uMngeni traffic cops’ days of working from cars ‘soon a thing of the past’

uMngeni Local Municipality says its traffic
officials' days of working from their vehicles will soon be a thing of the
past.
Deputy Mayor Sandile Mnikathi says they've identified a building to set up office for traffic law enforcement personnel.
He says there was a need to provide a conducive working environment for their teams, who under the previous administration, didn't have a permanent workspace.
Mnikathi says they're renovating the new building and are hoping it'll be ready sometime next month.

"When we took office the traffic officials were working from their cars and so we found a building that was rundown but belonged to the municipality. With further research, it shows that the building was actually a pound a couple of years back.
“So we began the process of refurbishing that and so we are going to have an office space, kitchen and bathroom as well as a pound.”
