Umlazi murder: "He is only 25 but has done so much damage"
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
Dozens of community members from Umlazi will come out in their numbers at court - taking a stand against crime in the area.

Residents of the township's G-section gathered outside the Umlazi Magistrate's Court yesterday, where Sanele Makhanya appeared on charges including murder, attempted murder and rape.
He's accused of being involved in an armed robbery at a tavern where eight people were shot and wounded as well as the murder of four members of the Mzila family.

He will make his second appearance in the Pietermaritzburg High Court next Friday. Nathi Mzila, who attended yesterday's proceedings, says he was surprised to learn that Makhanya is in his twenties.
"Looking at the suspect, it stirs up all these emotions that have been going on in the family. The child is only 25-years-old, and he has done so much damage to the family. We leave everything to the justice system," he said.
One suspect was killed during a shootout with police - another remains on the run.
