Umkhayakude Mayor addresses manager's appointment
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Mayor of the Umkhayakude District Municipality has rubbished claims that the newly appointed municipal manager acquired the job through an irregular and flawed process.

The IFP in KZN says Sibusiso Bukhosini had worked with the mayor before and included him as a reference on his CV.
It says Bukhosini was one of five applicants for the job but four candidates pulled out at the last minute.
Mayor Solomon Mkhombo says not a single candidate was favoured in the selection process.
"Not even a single candidate was favoured. If they have prove that something contrary to what is allowed by the law happened, they must come forward," he said.
And Mkhombo says it's no secret that he and Bukhosini had worked together.
"My relationship with Bukhosini is a professional one. He is neither related to me nor do I have any business interest with him. He provided my details as a reference and further gained two more referees. If there was a suspicion that the mayor could falsify some testimony here, the mayor could be set aside and the other two could be pursued," he said.
