UKZN to host inaugural student fun run in Durban

The University of KwaZulu-Natal is hosting a fun run - involving students, lecturers and the institution's alumni - along the promenade on Durban's North Beach tomorrow.

Organisers say the inaugural event is set to encourage healthy living - and better engagement within the university community.  

The race - which involves scholars from all it's five campuses - kicks off at 10am and is expected to end at midday.  

At least 1000 participants have registered for the race. 

The route will begin at the Snell Parade, to proceed towards uShaka Marine World and returns to the starting point.

All registered participants will be provided with transport to the race venue. See details on departure points below.

  • Howard Campus - Traffic circle at MTB building - 08h30
  • Nelson Mandela School of Medicine -  Outside the main gate - 08h30
  • Edgewood - Ikhwezi Car Park - 08h30
  • Pietermaritzburg - Risk Management Services, Main Campus - 08h15

The flow of traffic in the vicinity - will not be affected.
