UKZN condemns violence during student protest
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The University of KwaZulu-Natal has strongly condemned the acts of violence that were seen at its Howard College campus on Wednesday.

This after a group of about 300 people attempted to force their way into the campus without permits.
The situation soon turned volatile when an institution vehicle was pelted with stones and a staff member driving the vehicle was manhandled.

Some individuals later staged a sit-in at the Risk Management Services building, demanding to be allowed into the campus.
In a statement, the university management says while they continue to engage with the student leadership on a solution, security will continue to monitor the situation.
The academic programme still remains suspended for the rest of the week.
