Ugu officials say they're working to replace damaged water pumps with new ones - in Port Edward.
Residents are enduring a second week without water.
The District Municipality's France Nzama says they've had to source spare parts from outside the area.
Some water pump stations were damaged during the recent heavy rains.

Nzama says they're working on getting the supply back within the next two weeks.
"We apologise for the inconvenience. At the moment, we are pumping water to these areas - but not in full capacity. As soon as we get new pumps installed - we should be pumping to Port Edward and surrounding areas."
A ward councillor says volunteers and groups like The Gift of the Givers - have stepped in to supply residents with drinking water.
