Ugu Municipality addresses water supply issues
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Ugu District Municipality has assured residents whose taps have run dry in the past few days they should expect water from today.

A number of households have been without water since early this week, when municipal workers abandoned their duties over issues with their current group life scheme.
They're unhappy that under the current scheme, they will not be able to claim any of their benefits or have premiums returned - should they resign to work elsewhere.
The municipality's France Zama says a lengthy meeting was held late yesterday, where it was agreed that from today workers will return to their posts - while the matter is being finalised.
"From today they are returning to their posts. Things are expected to be normal. And we are going to be monitoring this very carefully. Most of the areas that were affected were experiences some issues where water supply and some areas have reported there was low [water] pressure - so those are some of the issues that were brought up," he said.
