KwaZulu-Natal police say two suspected carjackers were killed in a shootout with police in Isipingo, south of Durban.
Officers were patrolling the area on Sunday when they recognised a vehicle that belonged to an Isipingo police officer, who was carjacked two months ago and still had it's original plates on.
Police says a call for back up was immediately made.
They then approached the suspects who fled into a near embankment.
