There’ve been two deadly overnight crashes in KwaZulu-Natal.
A child was hit and killed by a car in the KZN Midlands on Wednesday night.
Netcare 911's Shawn Herbst says the seven-year-old girl died on the scene on a road - Tibouchina Drive, Cool Air in Dalton.
"Reports from the scene indicate that a seven-year-old child was struck down by a light motor vehicle.
"The child was assessed by paramedics on scene, however, showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased on the scene. SAPS are investigating."

At this stage, we don't know why the child had been on the road last night.
Then, on the KZN north coast on Thursday morning, a car collided with the back of a truck on the N2 north, just after Umhlali – in the early hours.
IPSS Medical Rescue says four people from the car were hurt. A woman was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene.
Rescue teams used the jaws of life to free another woman from the wreckage. The truck driver wasn't injured.
