The committee has been extensively questioning the SABC board in the National Assembly.

Naidoo says a report being delivered in Parliament as he was not part of it.

"I've heard all the explanations and I'm not satisfied as a board member. When I look at this presentation - it was is amateurish. I have come to the conclusion that this board is dysfunctional and it should be scrapped. Personally, I will be resigning today as a board member," he said.

Mavuso says he only found out today in Parliament that Bessie Thukana has been appointed as an acting COO.

"We're not following due process and seemingly it's very clear that a particular picture is beginning to emerge and it's actually worrying me. I cannot afford to be party to that and for that reason I believe my contributions are seemingly not adding much value. That's more than enough reason why I've come to the conclusion I'm tendering my resignation," he said.

Meanwhile, members of Parliament have slammed the SABC board for appointing Hlaudi Motsoeneng as the Group Executive for Corporate Affairs

The appointment was announced last week after the the Supreme Court of Appeal effectively dethroned Motsoeneng as COO after it upheld a High Court ruling last year that his permanent appoint as chief executive officer was irrational and unlawful.

The EFF's Floyd Shivambu says the board is incompetent.
