eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda has described Molife as a dedicated councillor who took great pride in serving his community.

There are plans for him and other officials to visit the councillor's family.

Mayoral spokesperson Mluleki Mntungwa says the killing of public representatives remains a concern.

"The mayor strongly condemned the killing and called upon members of the community to work with the police to ensure that the perpetrators of this crime are brought to book.

"The mayor also conveyed his condolences to the family. We trust that they will find strength in knowing that Molife's untimely death is not a loss to the family but to the entire municipality."
