Two killed in Western Cape mosque attack

Western Cape police say two worshippers have been killed in a mosque attack in Malmesbury - north of Cape Town.
It's understood the pair was stabbed to death in the early hours of this morning by a man in his 30s.
Police say the suspect charged at officers who were persuading him to hand himself over. But when he ignored their calls, police opened fire - killing him at the scene.
"Provincial detectives are currently combing for clues following the stabbing to death of two people at a mosque in Malmesbury in the early hours of this morning. Ipid was called to the scene. More details are going to follow," spokesperson, Noloyiso Rwexana said.

This morning's attack comes just weeks after one man was killed and two others were hurt in a similar incident near Verulam - north of Durban. A bomb was found at the mosque several days later.
