UPDATE: One killed in Verulam mosque attack

ONE OF THE MEN ATTACKED AT A MOSQUE IN OLD MAIN ROAD IN OTTAWA NEAR VERULAM, NORTH OF DURBAN HAS DIED IN HOSPITAL.
A mosque in the Verulam area, north of Durban has come under attack by a group of armed assailants.
The group allegedly stormed the mosque in Ottawa's Old Main Road earlier this afternoon.
Three people have been critically hurt and rushed to hospital.
Emergency services who responded to the scene say the victims sustained severe knife injuries.
The building was then set on fire.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says police, firefighters and several private security companies are on the scene.
"The fire department is currently on the scene clearing up, the fire been extinguished," he said.

A police spokesperson confirmed there had been an incident at the mosque, but was still waiting for further information from the scene.
