Two people have been killed in a car accident
in Umzumbe on KwaZulu-Natal’s south coast.

Officials say it was a head-on-collision.
Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson, Craig Botha, says the crash happened on the N2 just after midday.
He says medics found that one of the victims had already died.
" Two patients had sustained critical injuries and were trapped in a vehicle. A further two patients had sustained serious injuries."
Together with Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue and Mi7 Rescue, the patients were stabilised on the scene before being extricated from the vehicle using specialised rescue equipment.

"One of the patients that had sustained critical injuries deteriorated on scene and required Advanced Life Support interventions to resuscitate the patient. Sadly, the patients succumbed to their injuries", says Botha.
The other injured occupants have been taken to hospital.
