Two hijack suspects killed in separate shootouts in KZN
Police have confirmed two suspected hijackers were shot dead by officers in two separate incidents in KZN.
The first gun battle and car chase took place in the Thornwood area near Pinetown yesterday.
Spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says the Shongweni K9 unit spotted a car reported stolen in Mayville earlier in the morning.
In the second incident, a suspected hijacker was shot dead by police in KwaMbonambi, north of Richards Bay.

Police received a tip-off on the whereabouts of four wanted suspects who had apparently stolen a government vehicle and took it across the border.
Two others were arrested while a search for the last suspect who fled the scene is ongoing.
