Two fatal shootings in KwaMashu

Two security guards have been shot and killed in KwaMashu, north of Durban.

KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the men were escorting technicians to a cell phone tower in A Section on Thursday afternoon when they were attacked.
"The victims were declared dead at the scene and the suspects allegedly robbed the deceased of their firearms before fleeing from the scene on foot. A manhunt for the suspects is underway."

It's the second fatal shooting in the area in less than 24 hours.
On Wednesday night, a motorist was killed and another occupant was wounded in a hijacking.
"They were ambushed by two armed men who opened fire at them and fatally wounded a 47-year-old man.
"The other victim sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital for treatment. The suspects allegedly drove away using the deceased's vehicle," says Netshiunda
