Twitter reacts to Oscar's release

South Africans have taken to social media to react to track athlete Oscar Pistorius' early release. See reactions below.

The Paralympian, who has been convicted of culpable homicide, was released late yesterday after serving 363 days at the Kgosi Kgosi Mampuru II.


Reports say only officials in the Department of Correctional Services where aware of plans to release Pistorius into house arrest late last night while his family believed he would've been released today. 


A lawyer of the Steenkamp family has addressed the media, saying that Reeva's parents believe that justice should be served.


Spokesperson for the Pistorius family, Annelise Burgess has stressed the conditions of his sentencehas not been reduced and conditions of parole still stand.


His brother, Carl has tweeted "The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night's sleep.- E. Joseph Cossman."
