Truck attacks: SANDF deploys troops to four provinces

The South African National Defence Force has confirmed that troops have been deployed to hotspots where trucks have been targeted.

SANDF spokesperson Simpiwe Dlamini says soldiers have been dispatched to four provinces.

The deployment comes after 21 trucks were torched.
"[It is] in support of the South African Police Service to deal with the incidents of truck burnings. The provinces are KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the Free State. This is in line with the requirements of the police service," says Dlamini.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the arson attacks in the Mpumalanga province.
They will appear in court on Monday on charges of malicious damage to property.
