Police nab third suspect for truck attacks

Detectives in the
Mpumalanga province have nabbed a third suspect in connection with a series of
arson attacks on trucks.
It comes a day after a multidisciplinary team assigned to investigate the attacks arrested a suspect in Piet Retief and another in Ermelo.
The arrests come after 21 trucks were torched on major corridors in Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and KZN.
National police spokesperson Athlende Mathe says all three suspects face a charge of malicious damage to property.

"A third suspect was arrested in Emalahleni in Mpumalanga last (Thursday) night. All suspects, including the two truck drivers that were arrested on Thursday, are expected to appear in court before the Ermelo Magistrate's Court on Monday.
"Police are still hot on the heels of more suspects which involved the ring leaders of the sporadic incidents. We continue with a high-density operations through road blocks, stop and searching, tracing operations of these wanted suspects."
