Simon "Scorpion" Ndyalvane, Caylene Whiteboy, and Voster Netshiongolo applied for bail in the Protea Magistrate's Court.

They are accused of killing 16-year-old Julies, who had Down Syndrome, near his home last month.

The trio also allegedly tampered with the crime scene.

Magistrate David Mhango said the three accused did not present any exceptional circumstances to allow for their release.

Family members broke out in jubilation when the judgment was handed down.

"I have considered all factors and have come to the conclusion that all three applicants have failed on a balance of probabilities to prove exceptional circumstances.

"As a consequence, their bail application has been dismissed," Mhango said.

Mhango also believed there was a likelihood that the accused would interfere with the case and state witnesses.

He said Ndyalvana may carry out his death threats against Whiteboy, adding that Whiteboy was safer in police custody.

Mhango also took into account the community of Eldorado Park who already threatened to burn down the police station.

"The community in Eldorado Park is up and arms and demanding answers.

"I have no doubt in my mind that if released on bail that there is a likelihood that this would disturb public peace and order."

Bridget Harris, the mother to the teen, said she is happy that the accused will remain behind bars.

The matter was postponed to 6 November for further investigation.
