Tributes pour in for TV veteran Clive Scott

Veteran South African actor, comedian and director Clive Scott has died.

The 84-year-old died on Wednesday afternoon surrounded by his loved ones.


Earlier this month Scott was admitted to the Union Hospital in Alberton under the care of cardiac specialists. 


The cause of death remains unknown.


His daughter Gudrun Scott Cleghorn confirmed the news in a short Facebook post.  


“Our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same again. He touched so many lives and was loved by so many. A truly remarkable Life lived,” she wrote.

The acclaimed actor featured in several TV shows including Isidingo and The Villagers. 


Scott also made appearances in local movies.  


There has been an outpouring of tributes across different social media platforms in honour of his life and contribution to the arts. 


“My brother's Tom, Luke, Lufuno and I are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and for the exceptional care our father experienced in the last moments of his Life,” his daughter said.  


“Hamba kahle Pops.”
