Trial of rape-accused eShowe teacher expected to begin today
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
An eShowe teacher, accused of raping a 12-year-old Kwazi Bonele Primary school pupil, is due back in court today.
The pupil's mother hopes that after previous delays, the trial will finally get underway.
The trial was meant to begin in the eShowe Magistrate's Court in March, but the teacher did not show up - sending his attorney to court to report that he was ill.

The school-girl's mother says she's afraid any further delays will impact on her daughter's confidence, as she will be testifying in court.
"In June he was in court but didn't have a lawyer. His first attorney quit and so did the second one. So today all depends on whether he has a lawyer or not. He is out on bail, my daughter knows this and it scares her - even though he no longer teaches at the school," she said.
