Transporting alcohol over Easter weekend will land you in hot water
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Transporting alcohol over the Easter weekend could land you in trouble with the law.

"The police will be doing roadblocks and stuff. You're not allowed to carrying alcohol from one place to the other. Today, yes, you can buy it, you can take it to wherever but as from midnight today until midnight on Monday, they are not allowed."
President Cyril Ramaphosa this week said there would be a four-day ban on the sale of liquor from retail outlets for off-site consumption - starting tomorrow.
On-site consumption at restaurants, shebeens and pubs will be allowed.

Cooperative Governance Minister, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says sales at outlets will resume on Tuesday.
"We also plead with those who have licences for on-site consumption not to turn themselves into off-site sales because the police have told us that some of the licences serve alcohol and then when the patrons leave, they sell them alcohol to take home.
"That is not allowed."
