Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula says road safety begins with the road-users.

"We don't take responsibility for the unroadworthiness of our cars. Some of the cars on the roads are moving coffins. You get into a taxi, a mini-bus, or a bus to go straight to a gravesite," Mbalula said.
Mbalula has been speaking in Limpopo - following the deaths of at least 40 people on the country roads this past long weekend.
In one accident on Sunday night - 24 young people were killed when their overloaded minibus taxi - collided with a bus in Mapalle in Limpopo.

It's understood the group had been returning home - after attending the main Youth Day rally in Polokwane earlier in the day.
Addressing traffic officers in Polokwane today, Mbalula said authorities were working to determine the causes of the crashes.
"We will very soon announce the report of what exactly happened this past weekend when so many people died on our roads. The lawmust equally bite when you do things that are unlawful - there must be consequences for those who do so," Mbalula said.
