24 killed in Limpopo minibus crash
Updated | By Algoa FM News
It's been a tragic long weekend on the roads - with the transport ministry confirming 24 deaths in one accident in Limpopo.
The collision happened last night on the R81 in Mapalle - and involved a bus and mini-bus taxi.
The department says those who died had been travelling in the over-loaded minibus.
Spokesperson, Yanda Allie-Paine says the victims had been returning from Youth Day celebrations.
"What was supposed to be a festive weekend - where we are highlighting and celebrating young people - it turned out to be something sombre on the roads with the latest incident being the one in Limpopo," she said.
