SANTACO and Transport Department work on road safety during Easter holidays

The many travellers relying on public transport this long weekend have been assured safety on the roads.
SANTACO KZN's Sifiso Shangase says their road safety teams are hard at work.
"And we also had a rank activation, checking the issue of alcohol and the issue of drugs at the rank. There are certain other vehicles which we did not allow to continue carrying people."
The Transport Department conducted an inspection on the N2 near Marianhill yesterday.

KZN Transport Spokesperson, Kwanele Ncalane says the operations will continue throughout the holidays.
“We will focus on major routes including the N2 and other routes that are connecting towns in the province. We appeal to motorists to drive cautiously; make sure that they respect and adhere to all traffic regulations but also we encourage police to make sure they work hard to stabilize the province of KwaZulu Natal."
