Transport company speaks out on Free State bus crash

The transport company that owns the bus involved in the crash that claimed the lives of 10 ANC supporters on the N1 between Ventersburg and Winburg on Sunday says that it was an accident of its own kind.
Spokesperson for Kabati Transport Services, Wesley Maringa says that they are assisting and supporting the families and will be involved in all funeral activities.
The bus was transporting people from Port Elizabeth to Ekurhuleni in Gauteng following the ANC's Local government Election Manifesto Launch.
Yesterday, Free State police said the crash occurred when the /drivers were swapping positions.
Maringa says their drivers are paired on long distance trips and understand their responsibilities when on duty.
"A lot of us have observed the scene of the accident, others have seen it on TV and others went there in person. Two of our drivers were involved in that accident, we continue to offer them support.
"We have principles in the company, you've got guidelines that determine how we should handle incidents of this nature. Of course they remain our employees and we are going to continue to support them," he said.
