Traffic volumes on N3 set to pick up on Wednesday afternoon

The N3 Toll Concession says traffic volumes on the main route between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal are expected to increase from midday on Wednesday.
Holidaymakers will be travelling down to the coast ahead of the festive season.
Most of the traffic is expected from Gauteng down to KwaZulu-Natal with between 2 000 and 3 500 vehicles set to pass through the toll gates during peak times.
N3 Toll Concession operations manager Thania Dhoogra warns that police and metro police officers will be stationed all along the highway.
“Multiple traffic checkpoints will be located along the N3 Toll Route where drug and alcohol screening will be carried out, in addition to drivers’ licence checks and vehicle roadworthiness tests.
“N3TC’s route services teams will be out in full force to regularly patrol the entire route and provide emergency assistance to road users in distress,” says Dhoogra.
