Motorists are being urged to help reduce fatalities and injuries on the roads this festive season.
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula on Monday launched the Festive Season Road Safety Campaign at the Caleb Motshabi township in the Free State.
He says law enforcement will be out on the roads doing their bit - but that road users also have a role to play to help save lives.
"We are also encouraged by the fact that there has been a reduction of accidents since December.
"But now we are approaching the peak so there is going to be a lot of movement across our roads throughout the country and that is where law enforcement will be very critical and important."
