A man has died after being hit by a car in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban. ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huystteen says the 44-year-old was knocked down in front of a house in Kingsburgh, last night.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 11pm, they found another medical service already in attendance,” she says, “They were in the process of getting the patient out from under the vehicle and initiating CPR”.
Van Huystteen says ER24 paramedics continued with CPR for another 30 minutes.
“But unfortunately, the man succumbed to his multiple injuries,” she says, “ER24 declared him dead at the scene”.
Van Huystteen says while the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known to our paramedics, the police were on the scene for further investigations.
