Three trucks torched near Balgowan in KZN Midlands

Police believe the torching of an office and three trucks in the Midlands this morning is not linked to tensions within the trucking industry.

Spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says a security guard noticed two people on a private property in Balgowan in the early hours of this morning.

She says a container used as an office and the three vehicles then went up in flames."The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated, but there allegations it's related to an ongoing dispute within the site," said Mbele.
She stressed that the vehicles that were torched were not on the road.
"It did not take place on the N3 freeway."
Nottingham Road SAPS are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.
Meanwhile, the N3 Toll Concession says a truck fire near the Tugela Plaza last night was the result of a mechanical complication.
It is understood the vehicles brakes overheated, causing the fire.
Dozens of trucks have been torched on the country's roads in recent months, many on the route linking KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
Officials believe local drivers are angry that foreign drivers are being employed.
The N3TC issued a travel advisory to motorists recently, urging them to use the freeway for longer trips during daylight hours for safety purposes.
