Three suspects in court for PMB murder of officer, civilian
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Three suspected cop killers are expected in the Kranskop Magistrate's Court today.
They were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the death of Constable Thandoluhle Mhlongo as well as that of civilian, Mazwi Zuke - who were both shot dead last Friday.
It's believed Mhlongo - who was off-duty at the time - had heard someone driving recklessly and gone out to investigate.
He and Zuke - who was a bystander - then came under fire.
"The docket was taken over by the serious organised crime team from Pietermaritzburg. They worked for days in a row to try and get the people responsible. Luckily, we were able to arrest three suspects.

"One was arrested in Pietermaritzburg, two were arrested in the Durban area with the assistance of the Durban organised crime unit, the K9, and the Metro Police," the Hawks' Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
Firearms seized during the arrests have been sent for ballistics testing.
