Three people gunned down in KwaMashu spaza shop

Three people were shot and killed at a spaza shop in KwaMashu, north of Durban, on Tuesday evening.

Police say a 54-year-old shop owner was allegedly approached by a man pretending to buy cigarettes.
When the man got into his vehicle, four heavily armed suspects exited the vehicle and opened fire towards the owner.
A woman was also shot and killed, while another customer was rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds.
KZN SAPS spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the man later succumbed to his injuries.

"Police in KwaMashu are investigating three counts of murder. It is alleged that an unknown man approached a spaza shop owner after the owner told him they do not sell cigarettes, the man reportedly went into his vehicle."
“Four men got out of the same vehicle armed with rifles and opened fire at the spaza shop owner. He was declared dead at the scene."
"Nothing was taken from the spaza shop. The suspects jumped into their vehicle and fled from the scene.”
