Husband of slain reverend Liezl de Jager to apply for bail

The husband of slain Amanzimtoti reverend Liezl de Jager was set to return to the dock on Tuesday.
Werner de Jager is expected to apply for bail at the Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court.
De Jager spent Chrismas behind bars, facing a charge of murder following the death of his wife who was a pastor at the NG Kerk Suidkus.

She was found strangled to death at their home in October.
Shortly after her death, De Jager went missing, only to be found four days in what's been described as a disorientated state.
However, he was only arrested in November last year by the police's Cold Case Unit.
The case has been previously been postponed for the finalisation of reports on his mental well-being.
The state has previously indicated it will oppose bail.
