Two men and a woman - who allegedly pretended to be health inspectors - are due to appear in a Port Shepstone court today on charges of extortion and fraud.

Police say the group went into a store on Monday and began inspecting expired goods.

"They allegedly further requested store keepers to pay them cash. The storekeepers became suspicious and then contacted the health department. That is when the suspects decided to run away."
