Man handed 12-year sentence in KZN cash heist case

A former employee, who robbed a KwaZulu-Natal Fidelity depot of millions of rands, has begun serving a 12-year prison sentence.
Mbuyiseni Mthembu was among five people arrested after the cash heist in Vryheid - in 2017.
They held up security guards and demanded the keys to the vault.
They made off with more than R12-million and were on the run until they were caught by the Hawks.
Officials recovered some R700 000 from what was stolen.
The 37-year-old - who was convicted of business robbery - was sentenced on Monday.
Two other suspects, who were granted bail of R30 000, are on the run.
