Three killed, two injured in Cato Ridge accident

Three people have been killed in an accident in Cato Ridge, near Pietermaritzburg on Friday.

The driver of a bakkie lost control causing it to roll on Eddie Hagen Drive, early this morning.
ER24 spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen says two other occupants have been hurt.

"When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 02H00 this morning, they found the bakkie off the roadway."
"Upon further assessment, they found three patients lying outside of the bakkie. Unfortunately, two of them had sustained fatal injuries and they were declared dead at the scene. The other patient had sustained moderate injuries," she said.
Van Huyssteen says one person was found inside the bakkie had sustained fatal injuries.
"Another patient inside the bakkie had sustained moderate injuries," she said.
