Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN police are investigating the killing of three taxi operators in Durban.

The three men, who were related, were driving with three other family members in Folweni last night when gunmen opened fire on them.
Police say the three operators died on the scene while their relatives were seriously hurt. Spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says no arrests have been made.
"The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage although one of the deceased is a taxi owner at KwaMnyandu Taxi Association. There are no arrests. We are appealing to members of the community to come forward and give us information about the whereabouts of these suspects who allegedly attacked these family members," he says.

Zwane says it's unclear at this stage if the attack is related to the taxi industry.
Last week, two other families were attacked in separate incidents in Matimatolo and Mariannhill - resulting in the deaths of 13 people.
